These dreams of mine lately have been radiating predictive value. Some call me crazy, others too cynical to even turn their minds to it; however, my symboled predictor came true. As flighty as the feline that crossed my path in my dream, did too a former friend cross mine. Her lack of loyalty is maddening and despite her presence and undoubtedly importance in my life has diminished significantly over the past months. This last call, this final straw, has not come un-welcomed; Nor is it burdensome but more or less relieves me.

All these changes have thrown me deep into contemplating and thought. Days from flying out on my month-long journey. I hope this journey helps me lose/find myself even more so. I’m not on the road to enlightenment or any of the spiritual hoop-la that gets associated with travel. I just wish to come back knowing what I want. And by what I want, i mean, who I want.

She lives with a broken man
A cracked polystyrene man
Who just crumbles and burns
He used to do surgery
For girls in the eighties
But gravity always wins

I turn my mind, to the possibility of being with a man. When the thought begins to shift and turn into something plausible or real, or require me too give too much of myself, I crack and crumble within myself. I begin to attempt to formulate an idea of qualities, attractions, interests, ambitions but all of them too superficial to ever assist in the connection a person needs.

1. Do we have things in common? Yes;
2. Is he smart?;
3. Can he teach me things I don’t know?
4. Can I teach him? Do we share beliefs?
5. Do we balance out each other’s fears?
6. Are they trustworthy?
7. Are they trying to just get in my pants?
8. Does my ambition threaten him?
9. Does he have ambition of his own?
10. Are we both strong enough to look after one another?

At the end of it all I’m worn out and tired because the main question and the only answer I receive which cancels out all the others is number 7.

I am reassured by others of all my qualities and appearance, inside I breathe a sigh of relief (ok so it’s not me).
